  1. Question 1

What is the maximum flying height in the open category?

    • A50 metres above the ground.
    • B100 metres above the ground.
    • C120 metres above the ground.
    • D150 metres above the ground.
    Show answer

Correct answer: C. 120 metres above the ground.

In the open category the drone may fly no higher than 120 metres above the ground. If you need to go higher, the flight is no longer in the open category.

  2. Question 2

Your drone weighs 240 grams. You fit propeller guards, bringing the total weight to 265 grams. What applies now?

    • ANothing changes. Only the factory weight counts.
    • BThe weight with equipment counts, so you need a drone certificate.
    • CYou only need a certificate if you fly above 50 metres.
    • DPropeller guards don't count because they make the drone safer.
    Show answer

Correct answer: B. The weight with equipment counts, so you need a drone certificate.

The 250-gram limit applies to the drone with its camera and equipment fitted. Once the total weight goes over 250 grams, you need a drone certificate that matches the drone.

  3. Question 3

Which of these drones requires the owner to register as a drone operator?

    • AA 90-gram toy drone with a camera.
    • BA 180-gram drone with no camera or other sensors.
    • CA 200-gram drone with a camera that is not a toy.
    • DNone of them, because they all weigh under 250 grams.
    Show answer

Correct answer: C. A 200-gram drone with a camera that is not a toy.

Under 250 grams you must register if the drone has a sensor such as a camera. Drones without a sensor and drones classified as toys are exempt.

  4. Question 4

Where must your drone operator number be shown?

    • AOnly on the drone you fly most often.
    • BLegibly and visibly on every drone you fly.
    • COn the remote controller, as long as the drone is under 250 grams.
    • DHaving it on your phone is enough if the police ask.
    Show answer

Correct answer: B. Legibly and visibly on every drone you fly.

The drone operator number must be marked legibly and visibly on every drone you fly. Your certificate number is no longer valid marking.

  5. Question 5

You are flying in subcategory A3 at a height of 40 metres. What is the minimum distance you must keep from uninvolved people?

    • A10 metres.
    • B20 metres.
    • C30 metres.
    • D40 metres.
    Show answer

    Correct answer: D. 40 metres.

The 1:1 rule means the safety distance to uninvolved people must be at least equal to your flying height. 40 metres up means at least 40 metres away.

  6. Question 6

When may you fly over an assembly of people in the open category?

    • AWhen the drone weighs under 250 grams.
    • BWhen you fly higher than 100 metres.
    • CWhen the organiser has given permission.
    • DNever.
    Show answer

    Correct answer: D. Never.

Flying over assemblies of people is never allowed in the open category, whatever the drone's weight, class mark or height.

  7. Question 7

How close to an air ambulance (HEMS) landing site may you fly with an A1/A3 certificate?

    • ANo closer than 500 metres.
    • BNo closer than 1 km.
    • CNo closer than 2 km.
    • DNo closer than 8 km.
    Show answer

Correct answer: C. No closer than 2 km.

Under the Danish rules you must keep 2 km from air ambulance landing sites. They sit in red zones on the Dronezoner map and are marked with an H.

  8. Question 8

The police are dealing with an incident nearby. How far away must you keep the drone at least?

    • A150 metres.
    • B500 metres.
    • C1,000 metres.
    • DThere is no fixed distance.
    Show answer

    Correct answer: C. 1,000 metres.

You may not fly closer than 1,000 metres to a site where the police or emergency services are working. The rule is in the Danish drone order.

  9. Question 9

You want to fly after dark. What does that require of the drone?

    • AA flashing green light that is easy to see from the ground.
    • BA steady red light at the front and a white one at the back.
    • CA night-vision camera.
    • DFlying a drone at night is always forbidden.
    Show answer

Correct answer: A. A flashing green light that is easy to see from the ground.

At night the drone must show a flashing green light that is easy to see from the ground, so it can be told apart from crewed aircraft.

  10. Question 10

Under the Danish rules, which road may you not fly over?

    • AA gravel track on private land.
    • BA public road with a speed limit above 70 km/h.
    • CA cycle path in a park.
    • DA road with a 50 km/h speed limit.
    Show answer

Correct answer: B. A public road with a speed limit above 70 km/h.

You may not fly over public roads where the speed limit is above 70 km/h. This is a Danish rule on top of the common EU rules.

  11. Question 11

You fly a 1.2 kg drone with no class mark. What is the minimum distance from residential, commercial or recreational areas?

    • A30 metres horizontally.
    • B50 metres horizontally.
    • C100 metres horizontally.
    • D150 metres horizontally.
    Show answer

Correct answer: D. 150 metres horizontally.

A drone over 250 grams without a class mark (a legacy drone) flies in subcategory A3. There you must keep at least 150 metres horizontally from residential, commercial, industrial or recreational areas.

  12. Question 12

What is the minimum liability insurance cover for a drone over 250 grams?

    • A0.25 million SDR.
    • B0.5 million SDR.
    • C0.75 million SDR.
    • DThere is no minimum amount.
    Show answer

Correct answer: C. 0.75 million SDR.

Drones over 250 grams must be insured for at least 0.75 million SDR (Special Drawing Rights), which the Danish authority says is about DKK 7 million.
